What You’ll Do:

  • Manage a diverse range of litigation and investigation matters involving government entities and regulators, in numerous jurisdictions across the country and around the world covering a multitude of areas (competition, compliance, corruption, and other general business practices, to name just a few)
  • Collaborate frequently with management to develop litigation and investigations strategy and ensure goal alignment across various business teams
  • Take a hands-on approach to all facets of litigation and investigations, including responding to subpoenas and discovery requests from regulators, analyzing and formulating investigative plans; drafting and revising legal briefs, interviewing witnesses, preparing witnesses for testimony, and negotiating and drafting settlements
  • Supervise all aspects of outside counsel relationships, including staffing, litigation and investigations strategy, budgets and invoices, compliance with outside counsel guidelines, and work product
  • Efficiently resolve investigations and lawsuits
  • Manage a team of in-house attorneys and paralegals
  • Identify, review, analyze and mitigate legal risks
  • Devise scalable processes and procedures to navigate commonly encountered legal issues to help support a rapidly-growing, global business

What You’ll Need:

  • A minimum of 15 years of broad trial and litigation experience; government trial experience strongly preferred
  • A devoted trial lawyer ready to build a first-class investigations practice; someone who thrives on truth-seeking and providing savvy business advice
  • Substantive knowledge and expertise in a wide range of litigation and investigations
  • Demonstrated experience as a people manager
  • Familiarity with e-discovery issues, including document retention policies and procedures as well as collection, review, and production of documents
  • Highly motivated, efficient, organized, and laser-focused on the details; able to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment, both collaborating as a team to stay in sync and working independently to get the job done
  • Strong academic credentials and law degree from a top law school
  • Outstanding writing and advocacy skills
  • Enthusiastic about Uber!
