J.P. Morgan Execution Services 

The Execution Services team are the owners of the trading products used by the Cash Equities business across Asia Pacific.  These trading products include:

  • The client order management and trading systems that are used by Equities Sales Traders and Traders to manage client business

  • The execution tools that allow traders to access AsiaPac markets using algorithmic trading, our Smart Order Router (SOR) or direct market access (DMA)

  • Our client connectivity solutions that provide electronic trading  channels for external clients to access our products e.g. algo trading, program trading, single stock trading

  • Our analytics tools that provide sophisticated pre-trade metrics on how to trade specific orders as well as performance metrics on how well trades have been executed

The product areas that we are looking to hire for spans:

  • Execution tools, including Algorithmic trading, SOR and DMA

  • Analytics tools


The key responsibilities of the product management function of the Execution Services Team encompasses:-

  • Strategy – surveying the requirements of our clients, the ideas of the business heads, the rules and guidelines of the local regulators, intelligence on our competitors and the services offered by exchanges.  Based on these factors, develop a set of strategic initiatives for enhancing and adapting the product offering

  • Business cases – pull together the benefits to the business of an opportunity, the different options for implementation, the costs associated with the implementation, the risks, issues and dependences and an evaluation and recommendation

  • Program management – the execution of the workstreams that are required to implement an opportunity.  This encompasses:-

    • The objectives of the initiative and who are the key stakeholders

    • Identify the workstreams, owners and governance structure

    • Driving requirements and the resolution of issues that impact the delivery

    • Oversight of the phases of production implementation

    • Communication and coordination with partners and stakeholders

    • Tracking of success against business objectives e.g. incremental revenue, market share

    • Involvement in the sales process of the new product

  • Product Operation – Ensure the reliable operation of the product including:-

    • On-boarding new clients

    • Oversight of deployment of new features

    • Incident management

    • Capacity and resiliency

The product management functions success requires tight collaboration with the Business, Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance and other stakeholders across the region.

Your Background:

These points have been carefully considered as being essential for the role.  Your background must accurately reflect all of these for your application to be considered. 

  • Ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in Equities, ideally in Electronic Trading.

  • Demonstrable knowledge about common execution algorithms (VWAP, IS CLOSE, etc) and Smart Order Routing strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability in design and implementation of trading solutions.

  • Knowledge of Asia Equities market microstructure

  • Understands transaction cycle and the steps in the process and is execution oriented.

  • Understands the different types of risk and can discuss in detail ways of managing these risk.

  • Good technical and quantitative skills – ability to articulate requirements and contribute to discussion with Technology and Quantitative Research teams.

  • Strong analytical skills, ideally including experience in performing pre and post trade transaction cost analysis.

  • Entrepreneurial drive, demonstrating creativity in providing solutions to problems, and looking for alternative approaches versus the norm.

  • Ability to interact comfortably with business clients and management, and develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.

  • Ability to communicate concepts and ideas, both verbally and via documentation, and be able to defend their validity and target messages to different audiences.

  • Calm under pressure and ability to thrive on the challenge of competitive pressures and remain focused on client needs.

  • Open and honest communications. Escalates issues, risks and concerns promptly.

  • Organised and structured approach to managing work load

  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently


  • English fluency is essential
