We Offer…

Primary responsibilities:

  • Provide general legal coverage of (1) private equity-style investment fund focused on minority investments in hedge fund managers and other alternative asset managers, (2) legacy portfolio of minority stakes and revenue shares in asset and wealth management firms, and (3) other M&A, investment and joint venture transactions and related matters
  • Ensure appropriate review of regulatory matters relating to fund operations and investments
  • Oversee legal and regulatory due diligence of investments
  • Cover entire fund and investment lifecycle
  • Participate in departmental, divisional and regional projects, as requested
  • Collaborate with other control functions and other members of the GC department
  • Manage outside counsel engagements

You Offer…

  • 6+ years of relevant corporate transactional legal experience, including experience with investments in asset management firms; private fund formation experience, other investment management experience, and understanding of relevant banking, investment advisory and securities regulations desirable
  • J.D. or equivalent required, New York bar
  • Work experience in a major law firm; experience in a legal department of a leading financial institution/global financial services firm is desirable
  • Ability to prioritize and lead/execute multiple transactions and projects (short and long term)
  • Highest ethical standards and ability to spot and escalate issues to senior lawyers and business stakeholders
  • Sound professional, business and strategic judgment and ability to communicate effectively with senior business stakeholders and counterparties
  • Self-starter with an ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
