What You’ll do

As a member of the Risk and Regulatory Affairs team, the Privacy & Compliance Analyst is responsible for identifying and interpreting significant legislative and regulatory compliance requirements affecting the organization. As the Analyst you will play a critical role within the Legislative Compliance team in providing the necessary guidance, advice and support on legislative requirements and on internal governance monitoring. You must demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills as you will be expected to manage a number of complex files and projects while ensuring adherence to applicable timelines.

Major responsibilities will include:

  • Provide support to the Canadian Tire Privacy Office by investigating and drafting responses to privacy complaints and inquiries
  • Reviewing documentation to ensure privacy requirements are met
  • Researching privacy matters
  • Keeping current on trends and practices relating to privacy, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and the National Do Not Call List
  • Managing unsubscribe requests
  • Proactively manage scheduling and booking of meetings for the Privacy Advisory Committee
  • Maintain policies and corporate operating directives and communicate updates accordingly
  • Maintain compliance program documentation, verify existing controls through appropriate monitoring and help to identify gaps
  • Support the development of necessary training and communication materials to ensure education and awareness regarding legislative obligations and responsibilities as set out in the Legal Risk Management Board
  • Policy and Corporate Operating Directives
  • Other duties as required

What You’ve Done

  • 3-5 years of related privacy or compliance work experience with solid reading comprehension skills
  • Experience in monitoring adherence to corporate policies, procedures and other guidance documents
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills and sound judgement
  • Experience interacting with employees at various levels of an organization
  • Developed interpersonal skills in order to build and maintain effective relationships
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Past experience with regulators or legislative / legal matters would be an asset
