A Compliance and Regulatory Management Consulting firm seeks to grow their business. They seek a person with banking, mortgages, landing, and the alphabet soup of bank regulatory experience.

Our client, a nationwide management consulting firm, is seeking a Compliance/Internal Audit professional. This position will report to a practice Managing Director and is responsible for delivery of compliance services to clients across the market segments, including banks, credit unions, mortgage companies, finance companies and other non-bank financial services companies.

A consultant is expected to provide technical consumer compliance and operational knowledge through execution of engagements including risk assessments, ongoing monitoring, process and procedure reviews, new product/service reviews, remediation projects and other compliance consultation services requested by the client. The position qualities desired include:

  • Technical proficiency in reviewing and/or implementing consumer financial regulations
  • Working knowledge of bank products, services and operations
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret information and data about compliance with laws and regulations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Clear and concise oral and written communications
  • Excellent client relationship skills


  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field required. Advanced degrees including a masters or law degree desired
  • Professional certification such as the Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) desired


  • Minimum of 5+ years of regulatory compliance, risk management or internal audit experience within a financial institution required
  • Demonstrated experience with compliance risk management including risk identification, evaluation, mitigation and management
  • Experience with compliance management system development and administration
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Keeping up-to-date on regulatory requirements and industry trends
  • Ability to review, interpret and present data in a concise and precise manner
  • Ability to create reports and presentation materials that captivate and resonate with the target audience
  • Proficient in full suite of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, Excel and Access required, advanced proficiency desired
  • Knowledge of work paper documentation and report preparation


  • Ability to travel to client locations
  • Participation in industry associations
