About Corporate Communications, and Brand and Marketing at Macquarie The Brand and Marketing (B&M) and Corporate Communications and Investor Relations (CCIR) teams, located in New York, are responsible for internal and external communications for Macquarie in the Americas region, including brand strategy, marketing communications, media relations, event marketing, and internal communications. The team as a whole strives to raise Macquarie’s profile among clients and external constituencies, including: institutional investors, such as mutual funds, hedge funds, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and private equity firms; key corporate decision-makers, such as CEOs, CFOs and Treasurers; key decision-makers in terms of sales and trading of physical and financial commodities, including energy; the media; key stakeholders; and other industry influencers. With respect to internal communications, the team has primary responsibility for ensuring staff have a strong, reliable and consistent awareness and practical working knowledge of the firm as a whole and its underlying business activities. Working closely with HR, the team is responsible for instilling, promoting and enhancing the firm’s culture with close adherence to company’s stated principles and values. Position Summary The corporate communications team seeks an internal communications professional to support its Content & Engagement initiatives. The role will be based in New York, supporting US & Canada office locations. You will also collaborate with other members of the New York corporate communications and brand & marketing team and Sydney-based internal communications counterparts. The position requires an individual who has or can quickly develop a solid working knowledge of the firm’s Americas-based advisory, investing, lending, commodities and financial markets businesses and associated support activities, including risk, finance and operating functions. You will also be actively involved in working with and promoting the firm’s philanthropic and community-based activities Reporting to the Americas Head of CCIR, the position is an important addition to the Americas corporate communications and brand & marketing team in supporting regional Content & Engagement, senior management and other senior executives in the Americas region. The position will work closely with Americas Head of CCIR and other Content & Engagement partners within Brand & Marketing, and requires the individual to act as a corporate champion who can articulate the firm’s activities and positions on a range of topics to internal staff audience via written, verbal, visual and video-based media. In addition to internal channels, the role also requires the development of digital content initiatives using external channels such as .com and social media. General responsibilities The internal communications executive/manager will: * Develop firm-wide strategic internal communications planning in conjunction with the Corporate Communications and Content & Engagement team * Proactively plan, develop and execute on internal communication initiatives * Employ a variety of suitable communications channels such as intranet news articles, intranet sites, all-staff emails and news flashes, senior leadership presentations, town halls and all-staff meetings, teach ins, video, webcasts, desk drops, posters, networking events and firm-wide marketing campaigns * Engage staff through use of both traditional media, and newer technologies and applications * Advise and partner with individual business groups on internal communications and content marketing requirements * Advise and partner with support groups on firm-wide communications initiatives such as staff development, organizing and education * Engage external audiences through the development of branded content, such as thought leadership materials primarily through digital channels such as .com and social media (e.g. LinkedIn, Twitter) as well as traditional media * Work with Macquarie Group Foundation team to promote engagement in and awareness of staff involvement in community and philanthropic activities * Work with HR and executive sponsors to develop Employee Network Group staff outreach initiatives * Interact with global team to ensure informed, consistent and coordinated internal communications * Support media relations, social media, and brand and marketing as required
