Develop and implement a comprehensive vendor management program across the Investment division to insure high quality and cost effective vendor performance, sustain strategic and operational relationship with suppliers and mitigate risk

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with business units to identify current and future operational and product requirements for key vendors.
    Establish KPI’s, scorecards and rankings of vendor performance; focus particularly on constant improvement and defect reduction
  • Implement periodic risk reviews of leading vendors
  • Lead cross–functional business teams that meet frequently with vendors to review performance
  • Perform issue resolution reviews with vendors and develop root cause analysis processes
  • Design problem escalation procedures to insure there is a timely vendor response for all significant operational issues
  • Participate in contract negotiations to insure SLA’s and other performance standards are in place
  • Prepare annual vendor management plans for all major suppliers
  • Formulate comprehensive performance standards for qualifying new vendors
  • Co-ordinate vendor audits as required
  • Liaise with corporate procurement and risk and compliance groups across the firm to insure consistency with corporate directives
  • Lead programs with vendors to drive down costs, enhance quality and cycle time and to reduce defects.
  • Develop a vendor management governance structure across the Investment division
    Work with entire Investment division procurement team to insure internal users are in compliance with contract terms


  • Prior experience in managing complex vendor management relationships
  • Understanding of the integration of vendor product and service delivery with internal IT systems
  • Intuitive sense of translating internal business requirements into language that vendors understand and which they can measure
  • Ability to work across multiple business units on complex initiatives and the capacity to build and motivate adhoc teams
  • A passion for driving performance improvement and cost savings
  • Aptitude for managing enterprise-wide governance structures
  • Capacity to design performance measurement systems and the leadership to get all parties to implement change
  • Good program management and problem solving skills
  • Excellent influencing skills to insure program alignment and commitment
  • Strong communications capabilities to senior management, vendors and peers
  • Desire to dig into detail but also to recognize the big picture
  • Ability to analyze alternatives and set strategy but then implement solutions as well
