Overview

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:-

  • Establish and maintain working relationship with senior-level business partners; Reports to executive management on major accomplishments, issues and concerns.
  • Distill and communicate complex information to a diverse audience of stakeholders – up, down and across the organization while building consensus
  • Deliver on the roadmap through partnership and prioritization with teamwork from across the technology organization
  • Build, lead, manage, and oversee cross-functional project, initiatives, and daily operations related to: delivering technical solutions to solve business problems, assessing business and technology processes and functional needs for the enterprise; designing and implementing the optimal mix of system components to support the functional needs; managing the system development/enhancement lifecycle from business and systems requirements analysis through development; testing, quality assurance, post-deployment support, managing a portfolio of internal controls around business processes, systems, and data
  • Manage the current applications, including monitoring of risk and identification and prioritization of necessary improvements
  • Responsible for the development of best practices and guidelines for existing or new technologies within responsible area(s). Identify technology trends that may support or impede the success of the business
  • Drive innovation, establish new approaches to productivity, understand industry best practices in Capital Markets
  • Researches and selects vendors regarding the development of both technical and resource solutions, as needed, in conjunction with executive management.
  • Plan, document, and manage the performance of subordinate managers and/or staff. Conduct talent management activities including mentoring, training, or providing technical growth opportunities focusing on constant improvement and acquiring new technology skill
  • Operate a metrics based organization with constant focus on improvement

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; B.S or M.S in Computer Science or related field preferred

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Minimum 7 years as a senior manager or director with demonstrated experience leading geographically distributed technical teams preferred

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and operate independently with a high level of ambiguity and change
  • Ability to be both strategic (roadmaps, architecture, planning, etc.) and tactical (specs, code review, root cause analysis, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with relationship building with senior management across various functions
  • Experience implementing various Agile practices and methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Lean, TDD/ATDD, BDD w/ Cucumber etc.)
  • Experience building and supporting mission critical applications leveraging industry best practices and trends including Design Thinking product development, Microservices, Containers as well as driving change to move to the API economy
  • Passion for a broad mix of technologies at all layers of the stack including a strong subset of: AngularJS, Backbone, ReactJS, REST/JSON, Spring Boot, Node.js, Java, Kafka, SOA, Spark, NoSQL, Oracle, UNIX, and Software Defined Networking
  • Experience leading teams through Cloud and DevOps adoptions including strong familiarity with AWS/Azure, Docker, Jenkins, Puppet/Chef/Ansible, Git/SVN
  • Experience in Capital Markets environments; knowledge of Treasury and Cash systems a plus including related emerging technologies such as Blockchain
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
