• This is a career graded post with the salary ranging from £17,419 – £21,962 per annum (rising to £22,658 per annum after 5 years continuous service) plus £840 Inner Fringe Allowance per annum. The initial salary awarded will be dependent on the level of candidate’s experience.
  • Planning Enforcement is a vital section of the Development Control department and has a high profile within the Council, consisting of a busy and varied work load whilst dealing with breaches of planning control within the District.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience of planning procedures, but we are seeking a well-organised and positive team member to assist in the enforcement of planning control in a wide variety of circumstances, including determining applications to discharge planning conditions.  An ability to work with scaled plans, maps and photographs is essential. Knowledge of the Town and Country Planning Acts, witness/suspect interviewing and court experience would be desirable.
  • You will have the ability to deal with confrontational situations and potentially aggressive customers in a professional and controlled way. You will also be able to take cases through to a successful conclusion.
  • You will show self-motivation and an ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person, a commitment to a quality service and an ability to utilise IT equipment is also required.
  • You will have a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for business purposes.
